At today's working meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Bojan Maricik with the Austrian Ambassador to the country, HE Georg Voutsas  the perspectives of the region and the European integration process of our country were discussed, as well as the visit of the Federal Minister for the European Union and the Constitution of the Republic of Austria, Karoline Edstadler, which is to take place this Wednesday.

Ambassador Voutsas gave a positive comment on the new pace of negotiations with the Republic of Bulgaria, to find mutually acceptable solutions in the spirit of European values. Deputy Prime Minister Maricik stressed that the country is fully prepared to start accession negotiations with the Union and therefore it is necessary to respond to the challenges within a reasonable time.

They agreed that the two countries have excellent bilateral relations and cooperation, and we considered the possibilities for its advancement in order to implement the reform priorities.

Deputy Prime Minister Maricik expressed great gratitude for the principled Austrian support of the country, which is one of the best targeted and managed support that the country receives both technically and financially.
