The Ministry for European Affairs (MEA) today organised a workshop on the topic " Strategic communication and Visibility of EU-Supported reforms in North Macedonia". The event was organised as part of the EU-funded project "Support for Policy Reform, Accession and Effectiveness (SUPRAE)". The workshop focused on the Strategic Communication framework in the context of the Reform Agenda 2024–2027 and the Communication and Visibility Plan (CVP) related to the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and North Macedonia’s Reform Agenda 2024–2027.
The workshop was opened by Elena Presilska, Special Advisor in the Cabinet of MEA Murtezani, Magdalena Sharlamanov, Communications and Press Department at the EU Delegation to North Macedonia; and Mojca Grošelj, Team Leader of the SUPRAE Project. The workshop’s trainer was Bojan Kordalov, a senior expert in Communication and visibility, engaged within the EU Project "SUPRAE", while an introductory presentation on the Reform Agenda and the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans was held by Hristina Koneska Beroska, State Advisor at the Ministry for European Affairs.
The closing session featured remarks by Minister Orhan Murtezani, who thanked the participants for their commitment and active engagement. He underlined the importance of effective communication as a key tool in the EU accession process, stressing that the new Reform and Growth Facility, as part of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, presents a significant opportunity to improve living standards and create new perspectives for the citizens.
“Our responsibility as institutions is to bring the benefits of reforms closer to citizens through clear and creative communication activities. We need to demonstrate that implementing reforms means more jobs, a better quality of life, and greater opportunities, especially for the young people. This workshop is an important step forward in strengthening institutional coordination. The success of our communication efforts relies on strong cooperation among all institutions, the media, civil society, and the citizens”, Minister Murtezani said in his address, announcing that such capacity-building activities will be intensified in the upcoming period.
This workshop represents an important step in building a sustainable and effective communication framework to ensure visibility of EU-supported reforms in the country. It also serves as a stimulus for further institutional cooperation and public support for the EU accession process. The event brought together representatives from all relevant ministries and public institutions that will be directly involved in the implementation of the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and the Reform Agenda 2024–2027 of North Macedonia.
Participants were also introduced to the Communication and Visibility Plan (CVP) for the EU Growth Plan and the 2024–2027 Reform Agenda, a strategic document developed as part of the SUPRAE Project’s sub-component on "Communication on country policies, EU accession and EU assistance". Their purpose is to ensure that communication activities are effective, coherent, and aligned with EU financial mechanisms, while incorporating systems for monitoring, evaluation, and regular updates.
