Together with Prime Minister Kovacevski, we expressed our gratitude for the political commitment of the Socialist and Democrats (S&D) at the European Parliament in terms of the EU enlargement process with the countries of the region and strong support for the start of negotiations between North Macedonia and Albania with the European Union – said Deputy Prime Minister Marichic.
The leader of the Socialist and Democrats parliamentary group Iratxe Garcia Pérez welcomed the country’s reform progress, confirming that our efforts should be rewarded with the advancement in the European integration process and the first intergovernmental conference, as the European family is incomplete without the Western Balkans.
The interlocutors assessed that the continuation of the enlargement process is also important for the EU, because the member states will also reap specific benefits from it, and even more importantly for the EU – ensuring the stability and security in the Balkans.
