The Investment Summit for the Western Balkans is being held today (February 28th) at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) headquarters in London, with representatives from the region.
The summit aims to highlight the Balkans' potential for investment and business, and to promote regional cross-border projects. The Balkans is a priority region for the EBRD, which is why this bank is still the largest institutional investor in the Western Balkans.
The summit is also attended by a Macedonian delegation led by Prime Minister Kovacevski, along with Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bitiki and Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi who in addition to participating in the plenary session of the summit chaired by EBRD President Odil Reno-Basso, will hold several other working meetings with senior representatives of the bank.
The opening of the Summit will be addressed by Olivér Várhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, who will also present the state of the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) and the Economic Investment Plan (EIP).
