The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs, Bojan Maricik, today in Strasbourg had a meeting with the EU Ambassador to the Council of Europe, Meglena Kuneva.
At the meeting they discussed several important topics, focusing on the European integration process of our country, the importance of regional cooperation, the new dynamics in the cooperation with Bulgaria and Kuneva's political and administrative experience as former Deputy Prime Minister for European Policy and Institutional Coordination and issues of Bulgaria.
- I received very useful advice, learned from Meglena Kuneva's experience about the course of negotiations with the European Union and the challenges that await us in that process. "Bulgaria's experience and the lessons learned in the negotiation process are of great importance to us, at a time when the Secretariat for European Affairs is in the process of preparing the capacities of the negotiating bodies," said Deputy Prime Minister Maricik.
EU Ambassador to the Council of Europe and former Bulgarian negotiator Kuneva, speaking on the progress of the accession process, said it would be the best period for the country, which would give a new impetus to reforms and new energy to the administration, crucial to the accession process.
Meglena Kuneva strongly supported the new dialogue with Bulgaria and the cooperation we have at all levels, believing that we will quickly overcome the differences and North Macedonia will start negotiations with the European Union as soon as possible, agreeing with Deputy Prime Minister Maricik that "we must act together if we are to succeed " in this time of global crises and challenges.
