The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs Bojan Marichic in an interview for “Utrinski Brifing” on Slobodna TV said that the country is successfully managing the crisis, a consequence of the war in Ukraine and that there are many comments in public but also the region that North Macedonia has implemented the widest range of measures in the region.
The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs also said that the European Union is mindful of the Western Balkans countries, particularly North Macedonia and Albania regarding our support for Ukraine, and both countries have made a moral and genuine choice by imposing sanctions on Russia.
- The important thing is to strongly remain on the right side, to help the Ukrainian people as much as we can and call for the hasty end of the Russian aggression in Ukraine. I think that thus far the situation is stable, in terms of information dissemination of the realistic circumstances in Ukraine, which we have done really well through governmental and media channels, said the Deputy Prime Minister Marichic, adding that it is in our interest and in the interest of all the countries in Europe that the war ends sooner rather than later in order to annul and manage the consequences of the war which are reflected in difficult humanitarian and economic circumstances.
In the interview, the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs said that he is happy with the direct and open line of communication with the Bulgarian government and that they have clear understanding with their Bulgarian counterparts regarding our positions; moreover, he said it is up to the aptitude of both parties to find a solution for all unresolved issues.
- The new dialogue has normalised the relationship with Bulgaria, provocative comments are minimal and in my opinion, and there aren’t any negative connotations in the communication, in public or otherwise between the two governments. This means that the new approach has been fruitful for the relationship between the two countries as well as for cooperation between the working groups, which are expected to give positive results in the forthcoming period, said Deputy Prime Minister Marichic.
