Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs Bojan Marichic and Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski held a joint meeting with Josep Borrell, Vice President of the European Commission and High Representative for Foreign Affairs.
Deputy Prime Minister Marichic conveyed the message of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell that the European Union remains committed to the enlargement with the Western Balkans and sends a strong signal of the need for the Republic of North Macedonia to start the negotiations without any further delays.
Together with Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, Marichic underlined our European vision and our unity, cohesion and solidarity with the European countries and our EU and NATO allies, while also emphasizing the need for unification of the Balkans, which is extremely important for the European Union and its Member States. The meeting also confirmed the Government's focus on implementing the European reform agenda and finding a solution with Bulgaria, which will result in a date for the start of negotiations with the EU.
