At today's handover of the Japanese donation of medical equipment to the Mother Teresa Clinical Center, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs Bojan Marichic said that the procurement of medical equipment under the Japan Grant Program for Economic and Social Development is yet another proof of the successful and friendly cooperation between North Macedonia and Japan.
He thanked the Embassy of Japan and Ambassador Sawada Hironori for their continuous contribution to the improvement of the bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as to the growth of the Japanese development funds allocated in support of projects in the country.
“Japan has been our traditional supporter since the independence of the Republic of North Macedonia and has always been by our side at times at which when we need help, such as in the migrant crisis situation, when it provided us with assistance in the amount of 4.7 million euros, as well as during the floods in Skopje in 2017, when – under conditions of a pandemic- it donated equipment, just as now”, Marichic said.
The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment as a National Foreign Aid Coordinator for the Republic of North Macedonia to continue with the successful and direct cooperation with the Embassy of Japan, in order to promote not only cooperation development, but economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries as well.
