Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs Bojan Marichic welcomed Josep Borrell, Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs Policy, along with David Geer, Head of the EU Delegation in the country.
“This Balkan tour that the Vice President of the European Commission and High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, is starting exactly from Skopje, is a good signal that we and the region remain in the focus of the European Union. In anticipation of tomorrow's joint meeting with Prime Minister Kovacevski, one of the points of discussion I expect to take place is the Ukrainian crisis and our regional cooperation, which is recognized as a source of stability and security, as well as the commitment to rapid European integration of the Western Balkans as soon as possible”, Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Marichic wrote on his Facebook profile.
This is Borrell's first official visit to North Macedonia as a High EU Representative, during which he will meet with President Stevo Pendarovski, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski, Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi, and Foreign and Defense Ministers Bujar Osmani and Slavjanka Petrovska.
