On the occasion of this year's International Women's Day, March 8, within the Project for Introduction of Gender Perspective in the administration at the central level, a public campaign was prepared to introduce important data and trends on the state of gender equality in several spheres of our society, as well as the importance of gender statistics and gender-disaggregated data that should serve as a basis for creating all policies and services in society, in order to respond to the different needs of citizens.
The project is designed in close cooperation with the Secretariat for European Affairs (SEA) and in consultation with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy (MLSP) / Sector for Equal Opportunities.
The data were analysed in the framework of the UN Women project for the introduction of a gender perspective in the administration at the central level (Gender Equality Facility - GEF). The project is implemented by UN Women in partnership with the Secretariat for European Affairs and the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, financially supported by Sweden. The project offers support to key bodies in the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of the EU integration process for more effective implementation of national and international legal frameworks for gender equality and women's rights.
The data used in this campaign are from the State Statistical Office, more precisely from the publications of "Women and Men in the Republic of Macedonia/Republic of North Macedonia", as well as additional data from MakStat. The data analysis was conducted as part of the UN Women project for the introduction of a gender perspective in central administration, which is implemented in cooperation with the Secretariat for European Affairs and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, with financial support from Sweden.
As part of this project, on the occasion of March 8, UN Women is organizing an educational exhibition in East Gate Mall, which can be visited from March 8 to April 8. The exhibition will also feature four infographics made in the Gender Equality Facility - GEF.
