The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs, Bojan Maricik, today had a meeting with Olin Wethington, Member of the Board of the International Republican Institute (IRI), accompanied by Ilina Mangova, Head of the IRI Program in North Macedonia.
At the meeting they opened topics for current issues at home and internationally, the status of the European integration process in North Macedonia, but also the opportunities for cooperation between the Secretariat for European Affairs and IRI, within the mission and activities of the Institute.
Maricik thanked the IRI representatives for the continuous support that the Institute provides for our country in the implementation of the European reform agenda, as well as for the achieved democratic progress, noted in the Report of the European Commission.
- In the past years we have made many big steps to achieve tangible and sustainable results in the European reform agenda. We have positive progress and visible results in the reforms, noted in the international reports and in the EC Report. Our strategic goal, the European integration process, is the engine of reform activities, focused on European values and standards at home, for which implementation the support of our partners has an important role and great contribution, and one of them is the International Republican Institute, said Deputy Prime Minister Maricik, emphasizing that the common task is to continue to achieve even more positive social change.
The IRI delegation, led by Olin Wethington, stressed the commitment to continue the current cooperation in areas of strategic importance and support for projects that will contribute to the country's rapprochement to the EU.
