The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs, Bojan Maricik, today attended the first Intergovernmental Conference of North Macedonia with the European Union, from where he sent congratulations to the citizens on the occasion of the start of the negotiations, with which a different and better future is ensured for the country and the citizens.
Vice Prime Minister Maricik says that with today's first Intergovernmental Conference the negotiations with the Union are opened, thus formally becoming part of the accession process to the big European family and that this time there is only one end –full-fledged membership of MK in the EU.
- Ahead of us is a period of great challenges in which we will have to work even harder and dedicated to reforms, in order to justify the trust that the EU has given to us, but also to realize the expectations of our citizens, adds Maricik.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Maricik, this is the most important event for North Macedonia after NATO membership, with which North Macedonia completes another strategic goal and which determines the path our society should take.
Today in Brussels, the Government delegation led by Prime Minister Kovacevski attended the first Intergovernmental Conference of North Macedonia with the European Union, where the general political views of both sides were presented. Firstly, the European Union presents the general position of the European Union, after which the candidate country presents its general position.
After the end of the intergovernmental conference, a meeting will be held to open the screening by the European Commissioner for Enlargement Várhelyi and Deputy Prime Minister Maricik.
